Well everyone, my favorite holiday is upon us. I hope you are getting as excited as I am about stuffing your faces with stuffing, mashed potatoes, turkey and oyster rice stuffing if you're lucky. I'm actually to the point that I can smell things that I'm cooking and not by repulsed so I should thoroughly enjoy preparing for the meal. I'm making dinner for Josh and I and a friend. Josh decided that a 16 lb turkey would be enough to feed all of us...I am eating for two after all. I've also decided to skip stuffing the turkey this year simply because it comes out soggy to me. Josh's request for dessert is apple cobbler so he'll have to let you know how that turns out. The most important thing is that the cheese balls are made and ready to go. That is one of the best things about the holidays...so thanks to Aunt Ellen for sharing that recipe with me a few years back!
Everything with the baby is going swell. I had a check up appointment yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat again. Josh will be able to go to his first appointment with me on the 21st of December so I'm excited for that. I finally had the brains to ask him what time of day would work best and then scheduled the appointment to work with his request. I kept teasing him that he would never get to the doctor's office until I'm in labor and even then I can picture him at a baseball game with his cell phone that he never answers ringing away in the dugout or buzzing with text messages! He would have to have the bus driver make a special trip to get him home! Oh goodness, that would be funny!
I am getting over most of the nausea. Instead of a constant thing it seems to come and go without warning now, which is better than all the time I guess. The other night Josh asked what I wanted for dinner while I was doing some laundry and it must have been the question or the smell of detergent because just like that I tossed my cookies. I was completely not prepared and ended up pulling some muscles I think. Josh ran and hid so as not to hear the sounds. Poor sympathy puker that he is.
We're going to skim the ads tomorrow and see if there are any early shopping deals worth the trip into Twin. We have some specific things we're looking for so the hopefully the stores decide to sell those to me for cheaper. I would be willing to be an early bird for such a commitment from them. I would still have to make it back to work too since I just get Thanksgiving off.
Well, I wish you all a splendid holiday and may you each gain 5 pounds!
