One Week Left!

Hi everyone!

It's been a while since I posted on here, but there haven't really been too many things to update on. Just the typical pregnancy stuff that everyone goes through really. I've been oragnizing the house and cleaning and recleaning. We've put together the necessary contraptions for the baby's arrival. Got all the clothes that everyone has bought for us put away and readied and now we're just twiddling our thumbs until she decides it's time to meet the world.

My doctor's appointements have been once a week for the last month. I had one yesterday and everything looked A-OK. The doctor seemed to think I was right on schedule for a delivery on my due date. Though now that he's said that I'm sure I'll go a week over! I'm still trucking along at work. Everyone keeps asking why I'm still here!

I had a baby shower thrown by the ladies at work that was really nice and thoughtful. An amazing dinner at a nice Italian restaurant and more gifts than I deserve. It was while Josh was out of town so it took my mind off of missing him.

One thing I haven't done is pack my bag for the hospital, but I will get on that this evening! I have everything I need, it's just not compiled into one location! Anyhow, enjoy the pictures of Murray and maybe I'll get my husband to actually take a picture of me pregnant since it's hard to do one of myself!

Fiona-Bird

Here is Fiona breaking in the stroller that my mom sent us for our baby girl. Fiona thinks that "baby girl" still means her I guess. Though last night her and Murray (her tiger-striped brother) got into a cat fight, literally, over who was going to lay in it. Murray won.

8 more weeks to go!

There seem to be only eight more measley weeks to go until we welcome our wee one into this world. We're both so excited, nervous and anxious. I'm struggling with the idea of having to go back to work after I have her and Josh is struggling with the idea of the gross stuff involved with labor and delivery.

My checkups continue to go well. The last ultrasound revealed steady growth and no issues, so that is swell. Have another ultrasound on the 10th of April, which will put me at 35 weeks and should be the last one. I've included one picture of the babe from the last appointment. She was nice and snug against the placenta so there wasn't much room for getting any other good photos. It's amazing how the whole baby won't fit on the screen now!

Hope this St. Patricks day finds you all with a little extra glee in your lives!

Time for an update!

Last Friday, the 15th, we had a check up appointment along with an ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed that we are dealing with a single umbilical artery, so the doctors will be extra dilligent in looking for problems that could occur because of this. Right now, everything looks A-OK. The baby's head is quite large! 98% percentile in fact! Just like her mom and dad! And yes, I did say her. We are officially having a girl. I begin to see the doctor every two weeks now and have another ultra sound at 32 weeks to continue to monitor the SUA and any problems that may occur because of that.
On a side note, my sisters and grandma were up in Idaho for the weekend and got to go to the appoinment with me. It was the first time my grandma had seen an ultrasound. Nicky, my older sister, even cried! It was quite an experience!

Check Up Appointment

Today I had my regular four week interval check up. These are the ones where I just pee in a cup and we get to listen to the baby's heart beat. There was a first though today, they measured my belly. The doctor said I definitely had a basketball growing in my stomach and the baby was front and center, curled up in a ball right in the middle.

People are asking us about names and right now I can honestly say we have none picked out. There are a few we like but nothing that we've both heard and said, wow, that's the one! We haven't even got a baby name book yet and seem to always forget to browse online for any. I do have to warn you though, once we decide we won't be telling anyone! Too many people do the cringe face when you share names or relate it to something bad to them and that can put a damper on the name you truly like.

Josh is off of school today and has most likely watched his share of basketball and is now playing NCAA football on his PS2. He went to the appointment with me today and of all things gets really weirded out when he hears the heart beat. He says it's just not what he expected. Silly guy. Last night I jumped on top of him (nothing dirty!) after he got home from parent teacher conferences and he was laughing cause he said I was hard to balance! Ha!

Well, perhaps I will get some pictures of my ever burgeoning belly this weekend and post them for all who read this (2 people?) to see!
